breadworks: Grand Opening in Kyoto!

The wait is over! Today, April 9, 2026, breadworks makes its long-awaited Kansai debut.
We are officially open in the beautiful neighborhood of Shogoin. Come celebrate our
Grand Opening and be among the first to experience our signature artisanal bakes in Kyoto!

Since 2010, breadworks has been crafting “wonderful daily life with bread” across
Tennozu and Omotesando. From our signature natural yeast baguettes and aromatic
loaves to our seasonal danishes, every single item is handmade from scratch. We are
thrilled to finally bring this passion for flour and craft to Kyoto!

Leading the team at breadworks Shogoin is Nihei Kitayama, who honed his craft at our
Tennozu and No.4 (Kojimachi) locations. Bringing our motto of “quality bread for
everyday life” to Kyoto, Kitayama-san will be serving up:

Signature “Yudane” Bread: Famous for its unique, springy texture.
Shogoin Originals: Exclusive new creations developed specifically for our Kyoto home.
