To be able to work in an environment related to beer as a full-timer was one of the deciding factors.

I’ve always loved beer and had been searching for a job involving beer, when I found out about T.Y.HARBOR. I had been working for a British pub in Japan as a part-timer, but when I decided to work abroad for a year alone in England, I decided to move on from the pub. For an entire month, I tried and drank as much beer as I can consume in England. When I returned to Japan, I returned to the same pub for a while but one of my wishes was still to land a full-time job which ultimately led me to joining TYSONS & COMPANY.

I started my career at T.Y.HARBOR as a waitress. Next, I participated in the training of new staff and then onto guest relations. I was ultimately promoted to assistant manager of T.Y.HARBOR and was genuinely happy and proud as I was working in a male dominant store. In 2019, I became the manager of SMOKEHOUSE. SMOKEHOUSE is a much smaller restaurant than T.Y.HARBOR and it has a casual at-home atmosphere which allowed me to feel closer to our guests. I was surprised that SMOKEHOUSE had so many non-Japanese guests. I am nowhere close to being a fluent English speaker but always try my best to communicate in English to my guests as it’s also a great opportunity to improve my skills as well.

Working in a relaxed environment also creates guest’s special experiences.

As a restaurant manager, I am always thinking about how to create a relaxing work environment for my staff. In the store morning briefings, although we talk about serious topics, I also try to mix in fun factors into the meeting so my staff gets hyped in some way. In addition, it may be something small but I always have everyone sit down so we can all talk at eye level. I honestly believe that even the smallest things can attribute to a positive working environment which may ultimately lead to a better customer experience.

Quite often, I talk to our staff about "Each table having a story." Some have lunch with their loved ones, some have dinner with people who haven’t seen for a long time. I believe that we serve not only food and drinks to our customers but also some other value such as memories. My job as the manager is to communicate that importance to each and every one of my staff. It’s always great to hear when our staff mentions that they were able to make a customer smile during their visit.

My personality is originally positive. I always have the "Let’s try it first” mentality. In TYSONS & COMPANY, I feel that it is easy for management to express their feelings and suggestions. We have routine meetings with the general managers and directors allowing us to have a close relationship between our colleagues and upper management. This allows the company to have an open communication environment.

Working for TYSONS & COMPANY is my lifework. I have many things that I want to achieve here. I also feel comfortable working here which is very important. Often, I find myself thinking about our restaurant even on my days off. As TYSONS & COMPANY has many stores with different concepts, my dreams are limitless on what I want to do and achieve moving forward. One of the attractive points of our company is that it provides a variety of career options and paths. A server in a restaurant can move to other departments such as accounting or public relations or even the brewery. I believe TYSONS & COMPANY accepts every message from each staff and cherishes each passion.

After working at a British pub for 6 years, she joined T.Y.HARBOR in 2014. She started working as a waitress, trainer and guest relations staff before she became the manager of SMOKEHOUSE. Always has a positive attitude and passion for creating a warm atmosphere for the restaurant.

Available Positions:
Hall staff, kitchen staff, bakery staff (sales & production)
Salary:
New Grads:¥250,000 and up
Mid-Career:¥250,000 〜 ¥500,000 per month or more. DOE
Salary is paid every month on the 25th. In the case when the 25th falls on a holiday, employees will be paid the day before.
Career Growth:
Promotions – Considered once every year(July)

Shift system(Depends on work location)
Transportation Fees:
All fees paid
Days Off:
9 days off per month (109 days per year. 8 days for February)

Training Classes:We at TYSONS & COMPANY take great pride in our skill up training classes and are looking into expanding the variety as well. Classes are taught by in-house specialists. Certain expenses may also be supported depending on details.
Courses:Orientation, communication training, brewery tours, visual training materials are also available.
Employee Discounts:30% off at all TYSONS & COMPANY operated restaurant establishments. Cafes and goods are subject to 20% off discounts.
